Description
The Department of Radiation Oncology at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York is seeking a board eligible or board-certified Radiation Oncologist with an interest in Head and Neck cancers. The successful applicant will be responsible for leading and further developing the radiation oncology component of the Head and Neck program, including active participation in multidisciplinary clinics. A strong interest in the teaching of residents, medical students and other trainees that rotate through the department is also required. Responsibilities include clinical and academic (teaching and/or research) work in a state-of-the-art multidisciplinary Cancer Center and its satellite offices. The Department of Radiation Oncology is the leading cutting-edge facility in Central New York for the treatment of cancer, offering integrated multidisciplinary care along with investigator-initiated research and national cooperative clinical trials programs while maintaining a fully accredited residency program.
A full range of radiation oncology services provided include Gamma Knife Perfexion, Varian TrueBeams with OBI and Respiratory Gating, and Siemens CT simulators. Active brachytherapy programs include HDR, intra-operative radiation therapy, and prostate seed implantation. In addition to the Upstate Cancer Center, the Physician Group has satellite offices in Syracuse, Oswego, Cortland, Verona and a new center opening soon in Auburn, NY.
