Description

This position reports to our Director of Oncology and sits at our 188-bed teaching Hospital, Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, in Corvallis, Oregon.

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:  Provide safe, quality radiation therapy through the utilization of appropriate treatment procedures.  Participate in patient care, education, dosimetry, simulation, treatment planning, mold room duties and maintenance of patient treatment records.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:  The Samaritan Cancer Program offers state-of-the-art, high-energy linear accelerators, which are computer controlled to deliver an extremely precise radiation treatment based on each patient’s customized treatment plan.



Requirements

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current unencumbered Oregon license in Radiologic Technology required. If a new graduate, temporary license upon hire and permanent license within six (6) months of hire required.
  • Current R.T.(T)(ARRT) credential required. If registry eligible, credential within six (6) months of hire required.
  • One (1) year experience as a staff therapist preferred.
  • Healthcare Provider BLS required.

  • Conflict resolution - Ability to proactively resolve conflicts in a positive and constructive manner. Possess the knowledge and skills to handle complaints, settle disputes, and negotiate with others to reach mutually beneficial decisions.
  • Problem solving - Ability to identify complex problems, review related information, employ creativity and alternative thinking to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Team Building - Ability to work, function and communicate on a multi-disciplinary team. Possess the knowledge and skills to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time.
  • Communication - Effective written and oral communication skills to explain complex issues, exchange information between team members, and tactfully discuss issues. Ability to perform group presentations and listen to and understand complex information and ideas.
  • Medical Terminology - Knowledge of medical records, procedures and terminology as well as electronic medical record systems. Ability to read, interpret, and apply policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.
  • Customer Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
