Incumbent assists Manager. Incumbent integrates, implements, and monitors all departmental procedures and processes. Incumbent helps implement and monitor the technical and quality assurance standards and procedures. Incumbent is accountable for staff performance and provision of care within the Department of Laboratory Services. Monitor fiscal and budgetary operations and provide support for the vision and direction of the product/service line. Responsible for ongoing interface and frequent communication with patients, customers, employees and management. Effectively manage change, facilitate innovation and foster teambuilding to provide the highest quality and most cost effective laboratory product possible Incumbent is responsible for tracking problems involving patient care delivered from their designated areas. Incumbent is responsible for scheduling in-services of new staff and students. Responsible for monitoring of proficiency, annual educational requirements, and competency testing of all staff working in their designated department
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION Required: ASCP, NCA or equivalent, which meets CLIA 88 criteria.
EDUCATION Required: Bachelor (BS, BA) in clinical laboratory sciences area or any related field OR completion of BS/BA within twelve months of hire
WORK EXPERIENCE Required: 5 years related experience, 5 years supervisory Preferred: Experience in multi-hospital system
