RADIATION ONCOLOGIST with SRS/SBRT SUBSPECIALIZATION: The Permanente Medical Group (TPMG) is recruiting for a Radiation Oncologist with significant SRS/SBRT experience and interest in SRS/SBRT subspecialization to join our Sacramento Area Radiation Oncology Department in the Summer-Early Fall of 2021. The position is a hybrid SRS/SBRT and external beam position. The individual would plan to join our staff of 7 radiation oncologists and would be primarily based in Roseville. The SRS team also works with 2 Neurosurgeons who are based out of the Kaiser Permanente Sacramento Medical Center.
The KP-Sacramento Area Radiation Oncology is based in 2 freestanding, Radiation Oncology Centers (ROCs). The Roseville center is equipped with 2 Truebeam Linacs, 1 Novalis TX with ExacTrac which is being replaced in 5/2021 with a new Varian Edge system with ExacTrac Dynamic, a GE Discovery CT Simulator, and a Varian HDR Afterloader. The Rancho Cordova center is equipped with 1 Truebeam Linac, 1 Varian iX Linac (which is being replaced in 2022 with a new Varian Truebeam), and a GE Discovery CT Simulator. The department uses ARIA and Eclipse Treatment planning software and Brainlab iPlan/Elements for SRS. Charting is primarily in a customized version of EPIC EMR. The department is normally staffed by 8 Radiation Oncologists, 1 PA, 5 Physicists, 5 Dosimetrists, 2.5 RNs, 3 LVNs, 2.6 LVNs, 5 MAs/Rad Onc Aides, 15 RTTs, 1 social worker, 1 dietician, and an IT/Systems Administrator.
The Roseville center is the main SRS/SBRT center for Kaiser Permanente (KP) patients in the Sacramento Valley Area. The Sacramento department treats approximately 1,300 External RT patients and 250 SRS/SBRT patients per year. Both Sacramento Area ROCs opened in 2004 and are 2 of 6 KP ROCs in Northern California. Our centers are ASTRO APEX accredited.
START DATE is anticipated to be in the Summer-Early Fall of 2021. The position will be full-time. The position offers full benefits.
1) Prior experience in SRS/SBRT and the drive to develop expertise in SRS/SBRT and join an already high-volume service. Applicants graduating from residency and fellowships will be considered in addition to experienced individuals.
2) IMRT competence is required.
3) Board Eligibility to apply, but Board Certification is required to remain in the group.
4) California medical license is required prior to start of employment.
5) California X-Ray Supervisor and Operator certificate is generally required prior to start of employment.
