The Hematology and Oncology Service Advance Practice Nurse is responsible for acquiring and demonstrating clinical expertise and knowledge of Hematology and Oncology Services health care programs to improve the quality of patient care, the use of resources , and to facilitate compliance with internal and external requirements and standards. Management supervision and evaluation of care delivered by nursing and other allied health care staff in Hematology and Oncology Sections. Performs and documents initial & interim histories and physical exams. Initiates health promotion and disease prevention activities including health education and counseling. Orders diagnostic studies such as laboratory tests, x-rays, EKGs, ETC. Initiates requests consults, prosthetics & (non-med) treatments. Prescribes medications including controlled substances. Work Schedule: Mon-Friday. 8am- 4:30pm. Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
