Dartmouth-Hitchcock’s (D-H) Norris Cotton Cancer Center (NCCC), in partnership with Korn Ferry, announces a national search for the Section Chief and Founding Chair, Radiation Oncology.
NCCC is a National Cancer Institute (NCI) designated comprehensive cancer center based in Lebanon, New Hampshire at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) and the Dartmouth College Geisel School of Medicine (Geisel) in nearby Hanover, New Hampshire.
With collaboration from across Dartmouth-Hitchcock and its academic partner, Geisel, the Section of Radiation Oncology in the Department of Medicine will transition to department status. Currently, plans are underway to achieve the vision of a larger and more comprehensive focus on radiation oncology at the Cancer Center. A national search is underway to identify a new Section Chief of Radiation Oncology, who will lead and serve as the Founding Chair for the future Department of Radiation Oncology (Section Chief/Founding Chair).
In this inaugural role, the Section Chief/Founding Chair will provide strategic vision and leadership for the growth and expansion of clinical services, training and career development, and inter-disciplinary research, within NCCC and the Section/Department of Radiation Oncology. The Section Chief/Founding Chair will lead an established academic practice that includes a full spectrum of clinical and academic engagement in radiation oncology, a newly established residency program and a strong portfolio of both clinical trials and NIH-funded research.
The Section Chief/Founding Chair will serve as the chief academic and administrative officer for Radiation Oncology. The Section Chief/Founding Chair will be a dynamic leader with outstanding academic, clinical and leadership skills suitable to guide the future transition of the Section of Radiation Oncology to full departmental status. The successful candidate will ensure that research, education, clinical operations, and community outreach are aligned to support a demanding and high-quality academic practice. This requires commitment to recruit, lead, and grow programs in a complex academic environment, ensuring that the academic and clinical activities of NCCC continue to bring value to stakeholders and distinction to Dartmouth-Hitchcock nationally.
