• Skill in using electronic medical records to check patient history.
• Skill in using computer database during evaluation as guide to appropriate decision.
• Skill in making triage decisions and responding quickly and calmly in emergency situations.
• Skill in assessing and managing chemotherapy/immunotherapy side effects including electrolyte imbalances, and blood transfusions.

Abilities

• Ability to communicate clearly and calmly with patient/family.
• Ability to elicit information needed to make evaluation.
• Ability to work closely with physicians and other clinicians as needed.
• Ability to competently use practice management software, E.H.R.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed by the state of Oregon to practice Nursing.
• Knowledge of medical practice telephone triage protocols.
• Demonstrates a commitment to professional accountability and growth   
• Must have diplomacy and tact in handling difficult and irate patients.
• Outstanding communication skills and persuasiveness, especially the ability to communicate instructions and procedures for treatments, giving patients and their parents the desired level of comfort and confidence.
• Strong ethics and high level of personal and professional integrity.
