The Department of Radiation Oncology, University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, Seidman Cancer Center and Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine is recruiting for one or more faculty radiation oncologists. Either MD’s or MD/Ph.Ds are welcome to apply.
Candidates must be ABR board-certified or board-eligible, and qualify for an unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Ohio. He/she must demonstrate a significant commitment to continuous quality improvement and clinical excellence, patient service and access. In addition, the successful candidate will have a desire and aptitude to be a national leader in academic radiation oncology. All UH radiation oncologists receive an appropriate-level faculty appointment at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
The Department consists of an academic main campus in Cleveland, as well as 10 community facilities throughout Northeast Ohio. The main campus includes three Elekta IMRT/IGRT linear accelerators with advanced FSRT/SBRT capability, a gamma knife Perfexion radiosurgery unit, Mobetron IORT, an Image-guided HDR unit, and a new on-site single-vault (Mevion) Proton Beam Center, the first proton center in Ohio. The Department's community sites feature high quality IMRT/IGRT Linacs (Elekta and/or Varian) and extensive support from full time faculty physicists.
The department's level of National Cancer Institute (NCI)-sponsored clinical trial leadership and accrual is among the highest in the nation. As such, there will be opportunities for national-level Committee appointments. There are also many opportunities for investigator-initiated clinical trials and other projects through the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center, a top-ranked NCI designated cancer center. The Department has 18 radiation oncologists and 19 radiation physicists on its faculty and treats about 300 patients per day across its centers in Northeast Ohio.
