Atlantic Health System, one of the largest non-profit health care organizations in New Jersey, is currently seeking a dynamic leader to assume the role of Chief Physicist for the healthcare system. This position will oversee the physics and dosimetry teams across its network of hospitals: Morristown Medical Center, Overlook Medical Center, Chilton Medical Center, and Hackettstown Medical Center with 6 Varian Linear Accelerators, 1 CyberKnife and 1 Tomotherapy unit, and 1 Brachytherapy unit.
The selected candidate will possess the following (but not limited to) attributes:
Proven track record as a successful leader in an integrated healthcare system
Experience in working across multiple geographic regions
Proficiency in solving complex problems
Ability to mentor/coach and lead a team to improve performance, efficiency, and team engagement
Desire/enthusiasm to initiate new and emerging technologies
Capability to work alongside 7 radiation oncologists, 6 physicists, and 4 dosimetrists to develop new programs and ideas
Strong commitment to research
Experience in developing comprehensive quality programs and a service quality scorecard
Proficiency with Varian/Eclipse
CyberKnife experience highly desirable
Proficient in the external beam (SRS, SBRT, CBCT) and brachytherapy program
Experience in selection, installation, and implementation of new technology
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Respected among colleagues in the field
Requires a Doctoral degree in Medical Physics; certification in Therapeutic Radiological Physics from the American Board of Radiology; and at least 10 years of full-time equivalent experience in medical radiation physics.
