The Department of Radiation Oncology at Duke University is seeking a clinically and academically oriented, Board Certified/Board Eligible Radiation Oncologist to focus on the management of patients and education of residents at the ACR accredited Department of Radiation Oncology at the Durham Veterans Affairs Medical Center. The recruitment for this position represents the replacement of a clinical faculty within this program. The equipment at the Durham VA Medical center includes an in-department 4DCT simulator, 2 Varian LINACs, as well as Exac Trac, OBI/CBCT, VMAT, VisionRT, ABC, Calypso, and RPM gating. There are active IMRT, SRS, LDR brachytherapy, and SBRT programs. The DVAMC Radiation Oncology cares for patients from all of North Carolina, and has dedicated head and neck, thoracic, GI, and liver multidisciplinary tumor boards. A new Radiation Oncology Department is being constructed as the first phase of a dedicated Cancer Center. DVAMC Radiation Oncology actively participates in cooperative group clinical trials. Additionally, there is both research coordinator and statistical support for investigator initiated trials and large database analyses. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to develop his/her professional career within Duke University Radiation Oncology and the Duke Cancer Institute. There will be opportunity for scholarly activities and professional development. Two to five years prior experience is preferable. Compensation will be based on clinical and academic experience using standard bench marks.
