Plans, provides and evaluates mammographic and general radiological procedures and techniques; participates in the training of new employees and students as assigned; meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in the specific age range on their assigned clinical area. Works within the guidelines and requirements of the Mammography Quality Standards Act. Participates in all regulatory requirements related to the section.
Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of Geisinger Health System in its efforts to provide quality service and patient satisfaction.
Works under the general supervision of the department supervisor.

DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING-Assessment & Diagnosis
RADIATION SAFETY-Knowledge of radiation safety regulations, principles, techniques and nuclear materials handling; ability to practically apply this knowledge to resolve safety
RADIOLOGIC CARE-Knowledge of and ability to prepare patients for diagnostic/radiological imaging and to monitor patients' reactions during and after a procedure. Responds to emergent situations by applying appropriate measures.
MEDICAL EQUIP MGMT-Knowledge of the equipment used in clinical diagnosis, treatment and monitoring; ability to select, procure, maintain, quality check and dispose of medical equipment in compliance with related policies
CUSTOMER SVC SKILLS-Customer service skills is a series of activities designed to enhance the level of customer satisfaction, that is, the feeling that a product or service has met the customer expectation.
TIME MANAGEMENT-Time management refers to a range of skills, tools, and techniques used to manage time when accomplishing specific tasks, projects and goals. This set encompass a wide scope of activities, and these include planning, allocating, setting goals, delegation, analysis of time spent, monitoring, organizing, scheduling , and prioritizing.
TEAM PLAYER-Must be able to work and communicate effectively in a team environment.
INDEPENDENT WORK-Demonstrates ability to work independently or with limited supervision.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Graduate of an approved ARRT program; must be ARRT registered in Radiological Technology and Mammography; must maintain approved CE credits required by ARRT and FDA/ACR.
