Lifespan Physician Group (LPG), is the largest multi-specialty group of physicians in Rhode Island. Our growing academic physiatry department has an opening for a board certified or eligible PM&R physician to lead a growing inpatient consult service at Rhode Island Hospital (RIH) and The Miriam Hospital (TMH). Our approach is multidisciplinary; we have 7 physiatrists, 3 anesthesiologists and 6 mid-level providers on our team with two inpatient rehabilitation units (IRUs).The Department of PM&R also includes multiple outpatient clinics, with focus on Concussion, Spasticity, Prosthetics and Orthotics, Wheelchair management, Oncology, Wound Care, Spine, and Interventional Pain Management. We are proud of our collaborative environment and are seeking a physician to manage and grow an inpatient consult service at two acute hospitals located minutes apart.
Expectation of evaluation or follow up of up to 10 patients per day in the acute hospital
Percentage of time covering an outpatient clinic is flexible depending on growth of consult service.

Team based approach with hospitalists/nocturnists, advanced practice providers, , RN liaisons, floor RNs, social workers, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech language pathology, and case managers
Academic appointment opportunity at Brown University, Warren Alpert Medical school with expected teaching responsibilities at for residents and medical students rotating through the unit, as well as scholarly activity and community engagement
Call is currently 1:8, no night call

CME/licensing/privileges/DEA allowance $3,500 per year
