The Department of Radiation Oncology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) in Boston is actively seeking applicants for a 1 year, full time, non-ACGME accredited brachytherapy radiation fellowship. This program will focus primarily on GU, GYN and skin brachytherapy.
BIDMC has a well-established long-standing prostate brachytherapy program, and has had unprecedented growth of their GYN brachytherapy program in recent years. A skin brachytherapy program has also been recently established. The fellow will function at the main Boston location and will assist in the consultation, treatment, management, and follow up of patients undergoing brachytherapy. They will be expected to attend and actively participate in multidisciplinary clinics, tumor boards, and didactic sessions. Although this is primarily a clinical fellowship, there is an expectation for participation in a mentored research project, which will be tailored to the individual fellow’s interest.
The applicant will be expected to meet the following requirements for employment
Completion of a radiation oncology residency
ABR certification/eligibility in Radiation Oncology or an equivalent board. Canadian graduates are expected to have passed their qualifying exams from the Royal College.
Able to obtain a Massachusetts Medical License by the start date (tentatively July 1, 2020, but negotiable)
