The Manager Radiation Therapy is responsible for the day-to-day and long range planning, operating, staffing and coordination of the Radiation Therapy Department at Sharp Memorial Hospital’s Outpatient Pavilion. Ensures the delivery of high quality, cost effective patient care through the use of clinical expertise and effective managerial skills. Identifies and directly addresses issues that affect the quality of services provided to patients and physicians. Maintains a budget consistent with the hospital’s goals and objectives. Prepares and submits annual capital budget and cost benefit analysis. Hires, trains, orients, coaches, counsels and evaluates staff. Utilizes systematic methods of resolving problems and institutes corrective action. Maintains a positive and productive working relationships with the medical staff, peers, patients, families and management. Demonstrates strong team building skills and effectively institutes change supporting unit, level of care and organizational goals.
The Radiation Therapy Department is a fast-paced clinical environment treating 50-70 patients per day. The Radiation Therapy department equipment is comprised of an Elekta Versa HD, Elekta Infinity linear accelerators, Elekta Flexitron HDR Brachytherapy, and Phillips Brilliance Big Bore CT simulator. Our staff is comprised of a dynamic and cohesive multi-disciplinary group of health care professionals that consist of dedicated oncology radiation therapists, physicians, nurses, dosimetrists and physicists and front desk staff. They provide compassionate patient care in a team-oriented environment and are recognized for providing the highest level of quality patient care, while maintaining very high patient satisfaction scores. Works with oncology administration support team of oncology nurse navigators, social workers, dietitians, and clinical trials. Reports to the Director of Oncology.

This position is located at Sharp Memorial Hospital's Out-Patient Pavilion - Radiation Therapy Department in the community of Serra Mesa, San Diego County.
8 hours shifts; full-time position to work variable day shift hours; weekends as needed
This position may be eligible Sign-on and/or Relocation Bonus
Required Skills and Qualifications
Registered Radiation Therapist with current National and/or State licensure
or Registered Radiologic Technologist with current National and/or State licensure
or Radiation Oncology Nurse with current CA State RN Licensure
or Certified Medical Dosimetrist with current National Licensure
or Certified Medical Physicist
or professional with Master’s degree in Business or Health Administration with minimum 2 years of management / supervisory experience in radiation oncology
Minimum 2 years of management/supervisory experience in radiation oncology
Current BLS for HealthCare providers
2-3 years management/supervisory experience
Strong knowledge of Radiation Therapy
Demonstrated experience and the ability to manage multiple groups, interact productively with varying levels of personnel and staff; provide program direction and development
Ability to produce and utilize clinical, quality and financial data for project tracking and outcomes achievement
Advanced knowledge of computer systems, information management and data analysis
Clear and effective communication skills; both oral and written
Demonstrated knowledge of quality and safety standards and processes
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
2-3 years recent experience working in an acute care hospital or clinic setting
