Provides care to patients undergoing surgery by assisting with patient preparation and by circulating for various surgical procedures. Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in the specific age range on their assigned nursing unit.
Performs duties to provide the highest level of patient care and maximize patient satisfaction. Serves as a part of the Geisinger GWII ASC team and therefore, accountable for demonstrated behaviors and skills that support the success of the team.
Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of Geisinger GWII ASC in its efforts to provide quality patient care and patient satisfaction.
Works under the general direction of the Clinical Nurse Supervisor and the Geisinger GWII ASC Clinical Director.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Graduation from an approved School of Nursing required.
Valid RN licensure from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or eligibility for licensure, required.
ACLS preferred, not required.
Basic computer skills preferred.
Minimum one year experience as a circulator in a multi-service operating room preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. Extensive periods of standing and walking are involved. Work is performed in a clean, well-ventilated, well-equipped environment with possible exposure to patients with infectious diseases or to bodily fluids which may contain infectious agents as well as anesthetics, radiation, and chemicals.
Adheres to dress code. Appearance is neat and clean. Reports to work on time and as scheduled. Wears ID badge while on duty. Completes time card honestly and accurately. Limits lunch and breaks to scheduled time and maintains flexibility to allow coverage and efficiency within the Geisinger GWII ASC.
