Radiation Oncologist Faculty Position at the New York Proton Center
The New York Proton Center (NYPC) is seeking a clinical faculty member to support its rapidly growing patient volume. Located in Manhattan, NYPC is one of the most unique and prestigious clinical partnerships in the world of proton therapy. The collaboration between Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Montefiore Medical Center and Mount Sinai Health System brings state of the art proton therapy treatment to the patients of New York and the surrounding areas. The Consortium is managed by ProHEALTH Medical Management, LLC.
The team at NYPC is comprised of highly motivated, passionate, professional and engaged individuals working together as a dynamic team to deliver an exceptional level of patient care using the most advanced proton therapy technology. All four clinical rooms (3 gantries, 1 fixed beam) in NYPC are equipped with pencil beam scanning/intensity-modulated proton therapy. All gantry rooms also have cone beam CT capabilities. There is also a fifth treatment room dedicated to translational research. Treatment is delivered through Varian’s ProBeam Proton Therapy System with an industry leading treatment field size and ultra-small beam spot size. The center has in-house diagnostic and simulation MRI, PET/CT, and dual energy CT scanners. NYPC boasts a robust clinical research program and participates in a wide variety of cooperative group and investigator-initiated trials.

NYPC has 5 full-time disease site sub-specialized clinical faculty who are supported by additional clinical faculty from our partner institutions, along with 11 physics faculty. In total, 15 physicians have at least 1 year of proton experience at the Center, and there is similar significant proton experience among the recruited physicists, dosimetrists, and therapists at the Center. NYPC has a full complement of support service on-site, including a concierge team, valet services, nurse navigator, nurse intake coordinator, nutritionist, and social worker.

We are seeking a Radiation Oncologist to develop and grow the clinical practice at the New York Proton Center and to serve as a clinical and research mentor to junior faculty. The Radiation Oncologist will report to the Chief Medical Officer. The clinical components of the position require rigorous training and/or clinical experience in the full range of solid tumor oncology.
Candidates should possess superb clinical skills, strong interpersonal skills, an established and focused research agenda, and a track record of clinical and research excellence.
Medical degree from an accredited University
New York Medical License
Completed residency in Radiation Oncology; Board Certified or Board Eligible
Excellent communication, bedside manner, and organizational skills
A strong work ethic and desire to participate in a team-oriented, performance-driven Health Center
Prior proton therapy experience is preferred but not required
Associate Professor or Full Professor level preferred
