The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of California, Irvine, School of Medicine and Health System is growing rapidly and invites applications for Faculty Radiation Oncologists at the Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor Ranks in the Clinical X, In-Residence, and Health Sciences Clinical tracks. Candidates must be board-certified/eligible.
Candidates will be expected to direct patient care; teach residents and medical students; and participate in research. Priority will be given to those with a desire to build an academic career and who have a track record of productivity as demonstrated through publications, research, and/or grant funding. Skills conducive to practice-building will be especially valued, as well as an ability to work collaboratively within and outside the Department. Located at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center in Orange, California, the Department of Radiation Oncology is an integral part of the NCI-designated Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center. The Department is equipped with a robust blend of technology, including a dedicated HDR brachytherapy suite and an intraoperative unit. The Department features a four-year Radiation Oncology residency training program and a Medical Physics training program. The Department has an active Radiation Biology Division that currently ranks among the top programs in the nation with respect to NIH funding. The Department participates in NRG/RTOG and SWOG and encourages investigator-initiated clinical and translational trials.
