Northern Nevada Radiation Oncology is seeking a (Board Eligible) Radiation Oncologist. The successful candidate will perform clinical Radiation Oncology. A clinical or research track record in an area relevant to radiation oncology or basic science research would be preferred. Preference will be given to candidates who have obtained a higher degree (MSc or PhD) in a field prior to Radiation Oncology residency as well as multilingual capability. Furthermore, brachytherapy interest is very important as clinical volumes requiring these skills is expected to continue increasing. These skills can be taught as part of on the job training.
Northern Nevada Radiation Oncology is a well-rounded Radiation Oncology practice based in Reno, Nevada which serves Northern Nevada and Northern California, as well as more remote rural areas in both states. This practice provides many different modalities within Radiation Oncology and always strives to offer the latest treatments available. This is an ACR accredited facility with a full time PhD physicist on site. We have a strong relationship with the University of Nevada Medical School in Reno and Las Vegas. A basic science research program utilizing gene editing techniques as well as various clinical research projects are underway.
Currently Northern Nevada Radiation Oncology is staffed by one Radiation Oncologist utilizing one Varian Linear Accelerator, a Philips Brilliance large bore CT Simulator with 4D capability, HDR, LDR, Radium 223 (Xofigo), and Accuboost mammography guided HDR unit. We are treating over 350 new patients per year.
Reno is in the Eastern Sierra Mountain range within the Truckee Meadows which is located just 30 minutes from beautiful Lake Tahoe. The area provides great opportunities to enjoy many outdoor activities, such as mountain biking, skiing, hiking, water sports etc… In addition, we have exotic and excellent restaurants and numerous events throughout the year. Remuneration will be commensurate with experience and competitive with annual salary increases and an expected 4-year track to professional partnership. Benefits may include group insurance benefits package and relocation benefits. There is an allowance for annual leave of 4 weeks and additional allowance for professional development activities and scientific meetings.
