The Allegheny Health Network Cancer Institute Division of Radiation Oncology based at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA is actively expanding our academic and clinical network. We are looking for an academically oriented, dedicated, patient focused Radiation Oncologist to be based at our academic center and provide part time coverage at a clinical satellite. Candidates with an academic interest in Breast Cancer are preferred.
The Department offers a full range of treatment modalities including 3DCRT, IMRT/VMAT, IGRT, SRS/SBRT, TBI/TSE, Permanent LDR, and HDR brachytherapy. We have a long and established track record of providing high quality Radiation Oncology services to our patients through 11 hospital based and freestanding facilities in Western Pennsylvania and Ohio.
We are an ACR accredited practice and currently completing APEX accreditation.
We are undergoing an extensive clinical and academic expansion with a new academic cancer center to open in 2020 and 4 new satellite facilities. The academic cancer center at AGH will be equipped with a GammaPod, GammaKnife Icon, an MR-Linac, Brainlab SRS and SRT with Exactrac, and Elekta Versa HD linear accelerators.
Opportunities for collaborative research and protocol enrollment are available through internal departmental collaborations.
We currently employ 14 physicists and 16 physicians. We have a Radiation Oncology residency. Over the next 2 years we will be hiring physicians, physicists, post-doctoral researchers, as well as physics residents.
We are academically affiliated with both Drexel University College of Medicine, and Temple University School of Medicine.
Faculty appointment will be available at Drexel University. Research collaborations with Johns Hopkins Cancer Center and Carnegie Mellon University biomedical engineering department have been established.
The successful candidate should have demonstrated academic and clinical skills, and have a proven record of teamwork, exceptional interactive skills, and a caring, patient oriented personality.
