Seeking Neurologist, Physiatrist, or Anesthesiologist with Pain Management Fellowship Memphis VA Medical Center Care for the best patients in the World! You are invited to consider joining our multidisciplinary Pain Management Program where you will provide comprehensive medical and pain management care to Veterans seen at the Memphis (Tennessee) VAMC. Your role will include providing care to patients with acute and chronic pain conditions as a member of an interdisciplinary team, interventional pain management procedures on both inpatient and outpatient basis (within scope of practice), which may include cervical, thoracic or lumbar epidural steroid injections; cervical or lumbar facet/nerve block/median branch blocks; sacroiliac joint injections; pulsed radiofrequency; lumbar or thoracic para-vertebral sympathetic blocks; trigger point injections and piriformis injections; stellate ganglion blocks; percutaneous lysis or adhesions; occipital nerve blocks; Botox injections; trigeminal nerve blocks; ilioinguinal or genitofemoral nerve blocks; and spinal cord stimulator implantation, follow-up and maintenance. All candidates will also be able to practice within the scope defined by their primary specialty and must be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Board certification by an American Medical Board in Neurology, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, or Anesthesiology is required as is completion of a pain medicine fellowship. You should hold a US medical license (any state) with no history of revocation or suspension and, US citizenship or Permanent Residence is also required. Located on a 33-acre campus, the Memphis Veterans Affairs Medical Center is a fully accredited 244-bed tertiary care facility and consists of one main campus and two off-site, VA-staffed primary care clinics. The medical center's main campus offers acute medical and surgical care, as well as intermediate care, and a full range of primary, specialty, and subspecialty care including psychiatry, neurology, spinal cord injury, rehabilitation, oncology, dentistry, and special services designated for women’s care. It has established community based outpatient clinics (CBOC) in Smithville, Byhalia, Mt. Pleasant, Houlka, Tremont, and Tupelo, Mississippi; Jonesboro and Helena, Arkansas; and Memphis, Jackson, Bolivar, Dyersburg, and Savannah, Tennessee. These CBOCs approved under the VA Secretary’s decision on Capital Asset Realignment for Enhanced Services (CARES). The medical center's primary affiliation is with the University of Tennessee Colleges of Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Allied Health, with additional affiliations for associated health professions with colleges and universities throughout the country. It supports hundreds of active research projects and world-renowned Research Investigators. The Memphis campus houses a state-of-the-art, 5-story patient bed tower that was dedicated in June 2000. The final phase of a 3-phase seismic corrections building project was complete in 2007.
