The Permanente Medical Group (TPMG) is recruiting for a Locums Radiation Oncologist for May-early September of 2019 (minimum commitment 2 months, Mon-Friday) to help staff our Oakland Radiation Oncology to cover a planned leave of absence. The KP Oakland Radiation Oncology department is part of a large medical office building which also houses Medical Oncology (infusion) and has pharmacy and lab services. The department is equipped with 1 Truebeam Linac with OBI/CBCT and HD-MLC, 2 Varian iX Linacs with OBI/CBCT and regular MLC, a GE Lightspeed RT CT Simulator, and a Zeiss Intrabeam system for breast IORT. The department uses ARIA and Eclipse Treatment planning software. Charting is primarily in a customized version of EPIC EMR. The department is staffed by 4.5 Radiation Oncologists, 3 Physicists, 3 Dosimetrists, 1 Nurse Practitioner, 3 Nurses, 9 RTTs, 1 social worker, and 1 dietician.
KP Oakland will have 2 Radiation Oncologists on leave from May-August (2.5 regular Oakland Radiation Oncologists will be working during this time). In addition to this locums position, 3 Radiation Oncologists from other KP centers will also be helping with coverage.
The Locums Radiation Oncologist will be expected to see patients who are referred for External Radiation Therapy. The locums will NOT see any patients who need brachytherapy, stereotactic radiosurgery, IORT, or pediatric oncology patients.
Typical clinic hours are 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday. The locums will not take any call.
Reasonable lodging costs will be reimbursed during the locums commitment.
