Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children part of Orlando Health, a $3.2 billion not-for-profit healthcare organization with more than 2,500 beds serving Central Florida and beyond, seeks a senior rank physician in pediatric hematology/oncology as the new Division Chief of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. Reporting to Orlando Health Medical Group’s President, Dr. Sunil Desai, the new Division Chief will be expected to manage resources and foster an atmosphere conducive to faculty development, education, and clinical productivity and to provide outstanding clinical care for the patients we serve. The Division Chief will also be responsible for programmatic growth within the division as well as building the regional and national reputation of the pediatric Hematology/Oncology program. Position Responsibility Overview
The Division of Hematology/Oncology includes seven physicians (two Neuro-Oncologists, one Hematologist and four Oncologists), eight Advanced Practitioners, and over 55 Registered Nurses. The Division of Hematology Oncology at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children sees approximately 10,000 patient visits annually in the practice setting. Specific programs include: Neuro-Oncology, Hemophilia, Oncology, Sickle Cell, and Cancer Survivorship (long-term follow-up program).

Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children has 156 beds. Caring for the its patients are 130 pediatric subspecialty physicians and 65 advanced practice professionals in these specialties: critical care, endocrinology, nephrology, urology, hematology/oncology, infectious diseases, pediatric surgery, cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, pulmonology, genetics, developmental pediatrics, neurology, emergency medicine, radiology, otolaryngology, anesthesiology, neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery and craniomaxillofacial surgery. Arnold Palmer Medical Center Physician Group includes 82 pediatric subspecialty physicians who are directly employed by Orlando Health. Orlando Health and Arnold Palmer Hospital also have a pediatric residency program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). This residency, currently administered by the University of Florida, has 42 pediatric residents. In addition, Arnold Palmer Hospital has four pediatric fellowship programs in pediatric gastroenterology, pediatric emergency medicine, pediatric craniomaxillofacial surgery and pediatric orthopedic surgery. Arnold Palmer Hospital consistently has been recognized as a national leader in multiple specialties.
