Summary of Job Function: Working with the Patient care team, the radiation therapist is responsible for providing care to patients undergoing radiation therapy treatments. This may include treatment simulation, treatment delivery, and all aspects of patient care. The age of our patients receiving radiation treatments can range from under 2 to over 100 years. The radiation therapist assumes responsibility for advancing knowledge and others of the patient care team by communicating with and utilizing resource persons and programs available. Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors, etc.
Job Qualifications: Graduate of AMA accredited program in radiation therapy technology; MUST BE A.R.R.T. CERTIFIED; MUST POSSESS A NJ STATE LICENSE IN RADIATION THERAPY TECHNOLOGY. 1-3 years experience preferred. BLS required.
