Radiation Oncologist with faculty appointment at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level (clinical or tenure track, dependent upon qualifications)
Candidates for the position of Radiation Oncologist must have an MD or MD/PhD degree or equivalent. Applicants must have completed an accredited radiation oncology residency and be certified or eligible for certification by the American Board of Radiology in Radiation Oncology. Clinical responsibilities will be shared among the Huntsman Cancer Hospital and two satellite clinics. The successful candidate will possess strong clinical and interpersonal skills. An interest and experience in doing clinical or basic research will be a valuable asset. Job duties for a radiation oncologist with a faculty appointment will include patient care in close collaboration with corresponding oncology teams, participation in multidisciplinary tumor boards and clinics, research with mentorship by senior faculty as appropriate and teaching of radiation oncology residents. Workload will be distributed between clinical care and research depending on the successful candidate’s research program.

The Radiation Oncology Department occupies a spacious 30,000 square feet on the ground floor of the beautiful Huntsman Cancer Hospital, located on the grounds of the University of Utah. It is set against a backdrop of the majestic Wasatch Mountains within minutes of 7 world class ski resorts. The Department consists of 10 attending Radiation Oncologists working in conjunction with 10 Medical Physicists, 7 Certified Medical Dosimetrists, 2 Physicist Assistants, 1 Nurse Practitioner, 7 Medical Residents, and 2 Medical Physicist Residents.
