Porter Radiation Oncology is a free-standing clinic located on a hospital campus in Valparaiso Indiana. This private practice physician group has been supporting the community continually with state-of-the-art radiation therapy for more than 25 years. The busy practice averages 25-28 patients under treatment daily, approximately 8 new consultations and as many as 10 follow-ups per week. The physician is supported by a very dedicated and experienced team of associates: consisting of a physicist, dosimetrist, nurse, a four-person therapy team with chief therapist, and two front office secretaries.
- Valparaiso is an ideal location for radiation oncologists in the Chicago region, it is located just 40 miles from the downtown Loop in Northwest Indiana.
- Opportunity is perfect for a physician seeking supplemental support or semi-retirement income.
- Scheduling is somewhat flexible, tied to an academic school calendar and vacation schedule. Coverage is generally in 1-2 week increments, with an annual coverage of approximately 8 weeks annually. Able to map dates for the next 24-month period.
- Competitive pay, with coverage of expenses, malpractice insurance, and support through credentialing processes.
- Monday – Friday weekdays clinic hours, evening and weekend call.
- Logistical support with travel and accommodations if needed.
Requirements
- Board Certified Radiation Oncologist
- State of Indiana Medical License
- Hospital site specific credentials
- Reply must include an explanation of your specific interest and preferences for locums work as well as your CV attached.
- Experience with IMRT, SBRT, Cerner EMR, and Varian TruBeam
- Supervision of patients under treatment, new patient consults and follow ups, chart rounds, and treatment planning
- Weekday evening call is minimal and weekend call only in the event of a clinical emergency
