We are looking for an efficient and capable Radiation Oncologist to treat cancer patients using radiation therapy. The Radiation Oncologist's duties include but not limited to, confirming diagnoses, determining the appropriate treatments, and overseeing radiation treatments. You should also support the recovery process through consistent monitoring and by providing recommendations.

The Radiation Oncologist should be logical-thinking and possess superior problem-solving skills. Radiation Oncologist must be passionate about providing the best patient care.  The radiation oncologist must be fluent in English and preferably Spanish as well.

Radiation Oncologist Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the patient in initial consultation.
  • Conducting tests and examinations to confirm diagnoses.
  • Coordinate the patient’s care with other physicians involved including medical oncology and surgical specialists.
  • Experienced in stereotactic radiosurgery, stereotactic body radiotherapy and high-rate brachytherapy.
  • Have expertise in therapeutic simulation and development of dose distribution
  • Oversee patients during daily treatments and manage acute treatment-related side-effects as well as checking daily positioning cone beam CTs.
  • Follow-up care management including appropriate use of diagnostic imaging


Radiation Oncologist Requirements:

  • Doctorate of medicine degree (MD or DO).
  • Completion of a radiation oncology residency program.
  • Board certification as a radiation oncologist or board eligible.
  • Prior experience treating and diagnosing cancer patients.
  • Extensive knowledge of radiation therapy procedures and techniques.
  • Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Motivational and leadership skills.
  • A compassionate and empathetic personality.
  • Must be willing to be a team player.

Radiation Oncologist must have strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills for speaking with cancer patients and their families along with a patient’s primary practitioner and other health care professionals involved in patient’s diagnosis.

They must be motivational, have strong leadership skills and understand the importance of being ethical when choosing treatments for patients as well. Most importantly, Radiation Oncologists must have a passion to help patients fight cancer. They need to be emotionally strong and willing to befriend cancer victims who fear the possibility of death. They also must have a strong background in diagnosing and treating cancer.
