Twelve-month Medical Faculty
Central Michigan University College of Medicine (CMED) is seeking a basic science medical faculty with emphasis on teaching Pathology in our Foundational Sciences Discipline. Successful candidates will assume a educational role working with other faculty in implementing a highly integrated, cross-disciplinary, and inquiry-based medical school curriculum that includes peer-instruction, case-based and team-based learning. The selected candidate will be provided with support and is expected to deliver research/scholarly outcomes. The position will be at the Assistant Professor rank or higher, depending on credentials. The position may either be non-tenure track or tenure-track and will receive a financial support package for their research. Desired start date is 2026 however is negotiable.
Required Qualifications:
Doctoral degree (PhD, MD/DO)
Experience in and strong commitment to innovative approaches to education and learning in medical school setting
Ability or commitment to facilitate interactive learning in large and small group settings
Strong collaborative and communication skills
Experience incorporating DEI into pedagogical and or research practices.
All areas of research/scholarly activity will be considered
Candidates interested in advanced rank must have significant relevant medical school teaching experience of high quality in both large and small group settings.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with interdisciplinary integrated curriculum.
Broader experience in normal systems structure and function, and functional disturbances in disease (pathophysiology)
Experience in patient, case, and/or problem-based medical education
Experience with, or a strong knowledge of, pedagogical approaches such as team-based learning
Evidence of working in teams
