Medical Director – Radiation Oncology - Roswell Park Community Cancer Network

Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center (RPCCC), Department of Radiation Medicine, is currently seeking a radiation oncologist to join our team as Medical Director in a community-based practice setting at one of our affiliated satellite facilities located in Western New York.  Roswell Park has joined with hospitals, health systems, physicians, and supportive care teams from across the state, all committed to reducing the burden of cancer, to launch the Roswell Park Care Network. Led by RPCCC, the network is the most expansive community cancer, supportive and specialized care affiliation in the region — spanning Western New York, Central New York and beyond.

The Roswell Park Care Network builds on existing partnerships to expand the reach and impact of comprehensive cancer care across Western and Central New York and extending into nearby communities in Northwest Pennsylvania. The network improves the quality of cancer care by expanding patient access to personalized cancer care plans that are based on national cancer care guidelines, prevention programs, cancer screening, clinical trials and genomic and genetic testing.  As part of this network, the Department of Radiation Medicine operates four outreach facilities throughout Upstate New York.  Each facility contains stare of the art Varian and GE equipment and integrated with the Department through a state-of-the-art video-conference center.  On-site RPCCC medical physics and dosimetry support is provided.  The radiation oncology faculty at Roswell provides clinical coverage for time away and clinical collaboration/support through peer review.

Expectations include strong collaboration with the department and our community physicians, a leadership role in quality improvement initiatives, and clinical growth.

Founded in 1898 and operating on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus near downtown Buffalo, New York, RPCCC today remains the only comprehensive cancer center designated by the NCI in Upstate New York.  The Cancer Center currently has over 350 faculty and nearly 4,000 employees focusing on cancer research, treatment, and training.  Located in a new cancer hospital within a 30-acre research facility, the Institute is structured to promote multi-disciplinary oncology collaboration.

RPCCC is strongly committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Candidates must be able to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment, be ABR board certified/board eligible, have a MD or DO degree, and able to obtain a New York medical license prior to starting.  Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
