Established, multi-site radiation oncology network based in the Northeast is seeking a board-certified radiation oncologist. Our ASTRO APEx accredited Cancer Centers are located in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Join our well-established medical group as a full-time member overseeing the Radiation Oncology department at Guthrie Lourdes Hospital, Binghamton, NY.
Ideal candidate will have experience in a full range of latest technologies, and have excellent patient and colleague interaction skills.
Guthrie Lourdes Hospital has served the city of Binghamton and surrounding communities with compassionate patient care for the last 99 years. It was acquired by Guthrie, a not-for-profit, integrated health care system, in early 2024.
Guthrie Lourdes Hospital's Radiation Oncology department is dedicated to providing expert cancer care through cutting-edge radiation treatments. The compassionate team of professionals delivers personalized care to each patient, ensuring the highest level of treatment and support throughout their journey. The center is well staffed with nurses, radiation therapists, dosimetrist, physicist, social workers and patient navigators.
Guthrie Lourdes has a dedicated Medical Oncology group and infusion center embedded in the hospital. They are proximal to the Radiation department. There is a robust breast program and dedicated breast surgeon. There are strong urology and multi-specialist groups within the hospital. In addition, there are two surgical oncologists within the system.
Binghamton is a short distance from the Finger Lakes, and less than an hour and a half from wonderful Cooperstown and the National Baseball Hall of Fame. One hour away is Ithaca, NY, with prestigious Cornell University as well as Ithaca College. New York City and Philadelphia are just a three-hour drive away. There are many campuses of the State University of New York throughout the entire region, including Binghamton University, the state of New York’s flagship public university. It has consistently ranked in the top 50 public universities in the country according to US News & World Report. A midsize university town, the Vestal area boasts great diversity in culture, religion and lifestyles.
Known as the Carousel Capital of the World, with six antique carousels in the area, Binghamton is home to LUMA, the nation’s largest Projection Arts Festival, as well as one of the country’s oldest zoos, the Ross Park Zoo. Two professional sports teams call Binghamton home: the Binghamton Black Bears hockey team and the Rumble Ponies minor league baseball team (NY Mets.) Plenty of recreation and leisure activities abound in the area, such as hiking, bicycling, tennis, pickleball, skiing, snowmobiling, hunting and fishing, all to be enjoyed in the area’s four-season climate. In recognition of the area’s ethnic diversity, there are many excellent dining choices to enjoy, as well as minor league sporting events, opera and theatre. For the wine connoisseur, the New York State Finger Lakes and Wine Country region is within a 1 ½ hour drive.
