Providence is calling a Per Diem, Night Shift Respiratory Care Practitioner to Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center Torrance in Torrance, CA.
In this position you will:
Perform, management, and care of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities which affect the pulmonary system and associated aspects of cardiopulmonary and other systems function within the scope of practice of Respiratory Care Practice Act 1996.
Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment of initiative to apply prescribed treatments and testing in a safe, professional manner.
Be accountable and responsible for the delivery of direct respiratory care to all age ranges of patients from neonates to adults and through the assignment and direction of the Patient Care Leader, utilizing a collaborative care patient management process, meeting established standards of respiratory care and integrating other health care team members.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Current California State Respiratory Care Practitioner License.
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required for all new grad Respiratory Therapist applicants hired on or before 1/1/15. Note, Respiratory Therapists credentialed prior to 1/1/15 are grandfathered as CRTs
Current Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) for Healthcare Provider card
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (Bronchscopy Therapist).
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification completion within six months of hire for full and part-time staff.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Minimum of one year acute care setting to include critical care
Neonatal Intensive Care experience
EKG competency certified
RRT for all therapists
Membership in a professional organization: CSRC, AARC
