Functions independently and accountable for utilizing the nursing process. Coordinates the care for a group of patients with the Multidisciplinary Team. Delegates tasks appropriately. Identifies hospital resources. Serves as a clinical resource for new employees. Demonstrates positive formal or informal leadership within unit or department.
Work directly with Radiation Oncologist and Radiation Oncology Team to meet the needs of oncology patients while undergoing radiation treatments, both during treatment as well as the months and years ahead of them. Assist the physician with new patient consults, on treatment visits, follow up visits, etc. Education of patients and their families, as well as assessing and caring for their clinical, social and emotional needs is a large part of the job. Daily EMR documentation is a demanding part of the job as well as some scheduling, precerting and patient call back.
Junior College, Bachelors preferred
Less than 1 year experience
Applicable State RN License and BLS required, Certification in Specialty preferred (OCN certification preferred, but not required)
