The Provision Center for Proton Therapy in Knoxville, Tennessee is seeking a board certified/eligible Radiation Oncologist to join its team of health care professionals providing next-generation radiotherapy to patients in the Southeastern United States. The ideal candidate will possess a well-rounded skill set to treat the whole patient and be self-motivated, willing to build community ties and develop patient referrals. He/She will display great interpersonal skills, a strong adherence to best practices, and a passion for patient care and team support. Proton Therapy experience is desirable, but not required.
This position will work closely with the Medical Director and fellow physicians for the strategic growth of the Proton Therapy program as well as development of protocols and processes for the center. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing comprehensive cancer care campus focusing on innovative patient care, research and education.
The Provision Healthcare campus is a partnership among several major healthcare providers including Tennessee Cancer Specialists (the largest Medical Oncology practice in East Tennessee), the Knoxville Comprehensive Breast Center (one of the largest breast health centers in the country), Provision Diagnostic Imaging, Provision Radiation Therapy, the Center for Biomedical Research, University Associated Radiologists, Provision Radiopharmacy, Provision Physical Therapy, and Provision Health and Wellness.
Since opening in January 2014, the Provision Center for Proton Therapy has treated over 1,400 patients with pencil beam scanning using IBA’s latest equipment with two gantries and one fixed beam. Two additional treatment rooms with on-board CT imaging will be brought online using our proprietary ProNova Solutions equipment within the next 6 months. ProNova Solutions has recently received its 510K clearance from the FDA. Future national and international expansion using the ProNova system is also planned.
