What You Will Do:
Corporate management position, reports directly to Executive Director of Medicine. Operational and programmatic responsibilities throughout Valley Health System, specifically, economic, clinical development, regulatory oversight, quality and performance improvement for pulmonary services provided at at all Valley Health inpatient and outpatient entities as appropriate. Budget and direct line authority for Respiratory Therapy, as well as cardiopulmonary services such as Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) and Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS) at Winchester Medical Center. Direct reports include Manager for Therapeutic Respiratory Therapy and Manager for Programmatic and Procedural Pulmonary Services. Position works closely with many physician specialists to include pulmonologist, intensivist, oncologist, and many others to ensure clinical protocols are developed with interdisciplinary feedback and support. Program coordination and development duties to include the creation and implementation of strategic initiatives that expand access to pulmonary care, integration with thoracic and other key services, coordination of care throughout the continuum care continuum, e.g., pulmonology offices, hospitals, urgent care centers, nursing homes, and home health settings. Other duties will include leading and facilitating positive change for patients with pulmonary disease to include innovation of new services throughout Valley Health, expanding research trials to further science of pulmonology care delivery, and achieve high-quality outcomes for patient suffering from COPD, pneumonia, (interstitial lung diseases), and other as appropriate. Supports all corporate respiratory care policy and practice by being the corporate designated resource person for clinical coordination and systemization of Respiratory Care, oversees system-wide quality control, service development, goal development, objectives, and policy and procedure, as it applies to the delivery of Respiratory & Cardiopulmonary Services. Develops and implements staff competency training, testing, and education for all respiratory programs, technologies, initiatives, and process improvements to all Respiratory & Cardiopulmonary staff employed by Valley Health. Directly supervises and evaluates the performance of the Respiratory Services Management Team at Winchester Medical Center. Chairs the VH Clinical Support Council.
What You Will Bring:
Bachelor's Degree in related field required
Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business or Science preferred
Minimum five years respiratory and pulmonary leadership required
Certification & Licensures
RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist required
BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved required
ACLS or ACLS Rhythm and Drugs required
Advanced credentials such as ACCS, RPFT, NPS, CPFT required
Licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia to practice as a respiratory care practitioner according to state regulations required Advanced credentials such as ACCS, RPFT, NPS, CPFT
