South Mississippi Associates in Radiation Therapy (SMART) is seeking a BE/BC Radiation Oncologist to join its busy Private/Group Practice at the Forrest General Cancer Center in Hattiesburg, MS. This is an opportunity to join a well-established practice with state of the art Varian equipment including a Truebeam and Trilogy machines, Portal Vision, CBCT, IGRT, BrainLab, Respiratory Gating, Eclipse Treatment Planning System, Varian Varisource HDR, and Varian Aria Patient Management System, Wide Bore CT and Nucletron HDR Remote Afterloader.
Our department performs IMRT, IGRT, Rapid-Arc Therapy, HDR(GYN/Breast /Skin), Permanent LDR Prostate brachytherapy, stereotactic Radiosurgery/SBRTand radiopharmaceuticals. The practice sees about 800 consults per year and treats an average of 65 patients per day. The department is well staffed with 2 full time physicists, 3 dosimetrists, 8 therapists, 4 RNs, a dietitian, a nurse navigator and clerical staff.
Medical oncology and an infusion center are housed at the cancer center for patients’ convenience. The Cancer Center is accredited by the Commission on Cancer, demonstrating our commitment to excellent quality.
The ideal candidate will be team oriented, patient-centered as well as quality and safety focused. Experience with IMRT, IGRT, SRS, SBRT is required. Brachytherapy experience will be a plus. Participation in weekly tumor conferences is expected. The position is open to candidates with all levels of experience. New or recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
